How much would the goverment want for a lake?

my family and i are trying to buy a small lake,what are some intresting names and stuff and how muc would the goverment want for it

The town is Spalding, not “splading”. I think it would help your quest for information if it were spelled right.

As it sounds like it’s a bit of a community recreation area, I doubt it’s for sale. If the government owns the water frontage then that’s probably the case. Otherwise you’d have to buy out the local property owners, who may or may not be willnig to sell.

If it is for sale, then it’s worth what it’s listed for. It looks like the going rate in the area for land is around $50,000 / 1/4 section, and the lake is surrounded by about 3- 4 sections (square miles) of land you’d need to buy out. Plus the lake – which sounds like it’s a permanent lake that doesn’t dry up in summer, which also has some development potential so is worth more. A couple million dollars?

Unless you’re not talking about the entire lake, but just a waterfront lot. That’s a lot more reasonable for most people.

There are literally thousands of tiny lakes across that part of the country, and you can buy 160 acre chunks of farmland with several ponds in it for not a whole lot of money. They actually reduce the value of the land in a lot of cases because you have to plow around them.

As a foreign national, if I own property in Canada, are there any conditions as to how long I can stay?

The country that I am a citizen of allows me to travel to Canada without a visa. My question is if I or any of my kins own property in Canada are there any conditions on how long the stay is permissible before I have to leave?

As a tourist, you may stay in Canada a maximum of 180 days in any calendar year – regardless of whether you are a property owner or not.

To residents of Regina, SK, Canada – Is Normanview West a good neighborhood to live in for a family…?

with young children? Is it safe, near schools, basic services?
We will be moving to Regina in fall/winter and would like to know if this is a good neighborhood.

Thank you in advance to those who will reply and no need to mention the crime rate in Regina overall, I am aware of it.

Please ignore the “toilet” comments left by the first 2 posts. Regina is a great place to live, and yes, Normanview West is a good neighbourhood for a family to live in.

Which Canadian city is best for me?

Victoria, Halifax, Prince Rupert, Prince George, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Kingston, Peterborough, Thunder Bay, Sault Ste Marie, North Bay, St Catharines, Barrie, Saint John, Charlottetown, St John’s, Rimouski…..even relatively waterless Alberta and Saskatchewan have rivers and lakes close to towns…..I’m afraid your requirements are a bit vague since many smaller cities and larger towns are close to some body of water. In fact, there are very few that aren’t close to water of some kind.

How to tell the difference between u.s. and canada english?

There’s different English accents in Canada just like there is in the US.

So if you’re comparing a Western Canadian accent to a Southern accent, yeah there’s a world of difference. If you’re comparing an accent from Southern Ontario to an accent in Detroit… pretty similar. If you’re comparing a Newfoundland accent to anything else on the continent, WAY different haha.

I’m from Alberta, I can tell the different 9 times out of 10. Americans sound their vowels out differently. People in Southern Ontario kind of sound like Americans to me as well, but Americans usually sharpen their a’s more.

For example, when I hear Americans speak I hear this:

Canada = Keeanada
Pants = Peeants
Pack = Pa yck (they add this “y” sound almost”)
House = How se
About = Ab owt

When I speak I sound the a’s out way more mildly, I don’t add any “e” sounds to it. Our speech also tends to neglect the “u” w sounding part of words following another vowel. For example:

Canada = Kanada
Pants = Pants
Pack = Pack/Pock (I’ve been told by Americans I say a’s so mildly it almost resembles an “o” sound).
House = Hoase (I almost can’t even explain it)
About = Aboat (this is how the “ou” in House is sounded out almost).

See what I’m saying? We pronounce vowels a little differently. But as I said that’s subject to where in both countries you live. Both countries have many different English accents.

How do beta fish react to clod water?

i have a female beta and male beta! i travel a lot to places so they usually are alone sometimes. if the water goes under temperature what can possibly happen?

if it get’s to low like in 50′s the’ll probably die but in 60′s they’ll survive why can’t you just get a heater and you won’t have to worry about this

Help on Water Lilly Bulbs?

I was browsing WalMart’s fish section and saw the Nymphaea Lilly Bulbs, there were two in the pack. They were cheap and decided to pick them up. But before I put them in I went online to see reviews, and to my surprise half of the people loved them and half hated them. Can people help me with this confusion? Are they good or bad?

I just threw a rotten one out a few minutes ago, they haven’t worked for me but they may work for some people.
