(I have been working out really hard every day and eating very well. I have lost weight and gained a lot of muscle. I’ve been in excellent shape. Yesterday I had to fast all day and could only have soup, ices, and popsicles. I had the colonoscopy today and I have gained 2 pounds and my 6 pack is now not showing at all. I feel fatter. What happened did my metabolism get messed up and have I lost everything I worked for?）

You should have lost a pound or two by dieting but if you had to drink a lot of the prep medicine prior to the colonoscopy, which is always required, that could put a lb. or so on you in liquid. That stuff is loaded with salt and your body will absorb liquid easier if it has salt in it even though your bowels are emptied. Water is ordinarily absorbed from the colon naturally when the body needs it and you body needed it from being on the diet. You should be back to normal in 24-48 hours and your six pack couldn’t have gone anywhere in a couple days, it’s probably just covered up with some bloating from all that liquid.
